Theodore Weiner – Mr. Weiner serves as the Deputy State’s Attorney for St. Mary’s County. He is a graduate of the University of Baltimore School of Law. Mr. Weiner has led a distinguished career of legal service, including a clerkship with the Attorney General, an internship with Governor Marvin Mandel, and County Attorney. He joined the office in 1994 and was elevated to Deputy State’s Attorney in 1999.
Joseph Stanalonis – Mr. Stanalonis is a Senior State’s Attorney. He prosecutes violent felonies, as well as supervising the Child Support Division and the Juvenile Court Division. Mr. Stanalonis also serves as the prosecutor assigned to Adult Recovery Court and Juvenile Drug Court. He is the coordinator for Project Graduation. He has been with the office since his graduation from the University of Baltimore School of Law in 1996.
Daniel White – Mr. White serves as a Senior State’s Attorney. A graduate of the George Washington University School of Law, he has served as a prosecutor in St. Mary’s County since 2002. He prosecutes violent felonies and firearms violations. He also serves as the Chief of the District Court Division.
Julie White – Mrs. White has served as a prosecutor in St. Mary’s County since 2006. She handles felony sex offenses, as well as other felony cases. She graduated from the University of Maryland School of Law in 2005 and completed a clerkship with the Honorable C. Clarke Raley prior to joining the office.
Michael Kane – Mr. Kane graduated from the University of Baltimore School Law in 1985. Prior to joining the office in 2006, he served the community as an assistant public defender. He currently serves as a district court prosecutor and handles prosecutions of all district court traffic and criminal matters.
Laura Caspar – Mrs. Caspar graduated from the University of Baltimore School of Law in 2007. Since being admitted to the Maryland Bar, she served as a prosecutor in Anne Arundel County. She joined this office in 2011 and serves as the prosecutor for the Child Support Division.
Jaymi Sterling – Ms. Sterling earned her law degree from the University of Maryland, School of Law. She served as a Federal Law Clerk to the Honorable Alexander Williams, Jr. of the United States District Court. As an Asper Fellow, Ms. Sterling interned with the Honorable Glenn T. Harrell, Jr. for the State’s highest Court, the Court of Appeals of Maryland. Prior to joining the St. Mary’s County State’s Attorney’s Office, she served as a prosecutor in Frederick County. Ms. Sterling has been a prosecutor since 2008 handling an array of felony and misdemeanor cases in the Circuit Court including: assault, burglary, drug, drunk driving, gun, homicide, robbery and theft cases. She is an active member of the Maryland State’s Attorneys’ Association’s Legislative Committee and often testifies in front of the Maryland General Assembly advocating for stronger laws to protect our community and victims’ rights. Additionally, Ms. Sterling is cross-designated as a Special Assistant United States Attorney (SAUSA) with the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
John Pleisse - Mr. Pleisse in a 1970 graduate of the University of Baltimore School of Law. After many years in private practice, he joined the office in 2011. He currently serves as the juvenile prosecutor. As such, he prosecutes felony, misdemeanor and traffic cases involving offenders under the age of 18. He also handles Circuit Court violations of probation.
Buffy Giddens – Ms. Giddens joined our office as Domestic Violence Prosecutor in 2011. Since graduating from the University of Maryland, School of Law in 2006 she has prosecuted in Baltimore City as well as Anne Arundel County. Ms. Giddens has over 10 years of experience working with survivors of domestic violence and is an active member of the St. Mary’s County Domestic Violence Coordinating Council, the Maryland Network Against Domestic Violence and the National Network to End Domestic Violence.
